Hello and welcome!
I’m an ANZACATA Registered Art Therapist and provide dynamic services to organisations, community groups and individuals in Perth, Western Australia.
I graduated with a Masters of Art Therapy from La Trobe University (2014) after completing an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Anthropology at The University of Sydney (2010).
I have 10 years Creative Arts Therapy experience and have worked with children, families, and adults in various mental health, community, AOD and disability services.
My general approach as a therapist is to centre on the interests and strengths of the individual, while fostering a spirit of creativity and play. I am trained in Circle of Security (COSP) and a secure therapeutic relationship is a guiding light in therapy.
Essentially, I support clients to work toward their goals primarily through visual art mediums that include painting, drawing and clay. I provide all the art materials for the session.
What is Creative Arts Therapy?
Art Therapy harnesses the creative process to improve a person’s physical, mental and emotional well-being. Expressing one’s self artistically can help to process issues, understand ones self, reduce stress, improve self-esteem and support communication.
It is an effective intervention for children, adolescents, and is adaptive to the unique issues each individual faces. Reasons to try Art Therapy may be for personal growth, improving quality of life, or to access the professional support required to work toward particular goals.
